Reason 759 why I need to live in the basement...

I'm tired. It's been a slow night with absolutely nothing to do. I'm tired after working at 9 am this morning. So what did I do? I took a nice relaxing bubble bath and read my book. Then I came in here for a bit, discovered I had a headache after sitting in front of this all night (due to lack of anything else to entertain me), so decided, it's 10:30, late enough for bed. I crawled into bed and was just falling asleep (while listening to my new James Blunt CD, thanks Jods! I love it!) when Mom opens my door. Then her and Dad get talking and it sounds as if they are STANDING RIGHT BESIDE ME.

I'm wondering when they'll let me grow up and move downstairs. I'm getting quite fed up and a conversation I had with Tawny awhile ago replays in my head...
"...if I'm not in the basement by the time I'm 22, then I'm moving out. That gives them two years."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGS!!!

Today is Meghan's birthday (she also has a twin sister celebrating today, holla Kristina!). I've know Meg for awhile now, but just recently have started hanging out with her outside of work. She is one of the greatest people I know, always inspiring me. She's there whenever I need her, and I love her to pieces.
Happy Birthday to the coolest 19 year old in the world.

A Little Beach, A Little Pool, A Little Mall

Aside from the crazy hours I've been banking lately, I've managed to get in some Stacy et Friends time. Wednesday I went to see TWO movies, Thursday I went to the beach with Meghan and Krystyna (the water was insanely warm) and then we went back to Meghan's to swim in her pool. Then we went shopping to MicMac, where I didn't really buy anything (just as well, I now have a trip to save up for). Then we wondered what to do, while playing a joke on our managers at the theatre, went to Wendy's and then to Blockbuster. I bought Pretty Woman, Closer, and The Phantom of the Opera.

I just want to lay in bed watching Pretty Woman, but I don't have a TV in my room, something I've been meaning to buy for forever. Ah well.

But with this, I must bid thee goodnight as the daycare requires my attention in the am. Ciao!

And I'm so tired!

Buns or Braids?
Haven't updated in awhile. A lot has been going on, and I've been too busy. Work is absolutely crazy. We have a new district manager and now apparently there is a new rule about hair. They say that it's in effect for all employees behind concessions, but I hear yesterday they didn't say anything to the girls that were working. Wonderful really. I now have to wear my hair in either a braid or a bun. Oh, but wait, I'm allowed two of each if I really want to. Forget the fact that I've been a supervisor for a year and a half now, and I'd never had a problem with my hair before. Bah. I look like an idiot.
Calling all people...or not.
So on Thursday I went down to Aliant and got myself a new cell phone. It's really cute. But kind of a waste of money now that I think about it. I have a phone that Tawny and Taylor gave me a couple years ago that I just buy phone cards for. For some stupid reason I decided I wanted a phone that I could use here at the house (as the old phone is with Telus with whom I don't receive service out here). And of course, the only reason why I really need a cell phone is for when I'm driving or out and about, in which case, depending on where I am, I have service 90% of the time. My new phone is a camera phone. With voice mail (which I can't get working because I need a temp. password which was never given to me) and caller id, call waiting, call forwarding. And it can be voice activated as well. All these things that I really don't need. Oh, and I'm not happy with the service I receive. It's not as great as I was told it would be, maybe it's the phone, maybe not. Either way it come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and I think I qualify for it. The only thing is, there will be some charges that still apply, but really I think I can handle that. It'd just be like renting a phone for the weekend, and then I wouldn't have to be stuck in a three year contract.
Gym motivation
On Wednesday after work I went over to Athlete's World as I needed a new pair of sneakers for the gym. I had planned to buy the pink pair of Saucony that were on sale for $69.00. However, the guy working there starting talking to me about a pair of Asics that were on sale for $159.00. I realize that he was probably trying to get me to buy the more expensive pair so he could get more comission, but he was very convincing. He told me that the Asics pair is a better shoe, with more gel stuff, it will last longer (forever apparently) and that they are more comfortable as well. Sure enough I tried the two on and compared them, and I fell in love with them. And trust me, I wanted the Saucony ones as they were pink and the Asics ones are purple. But I figured with the running I do, I can't afford to mess up my feet and why not get sneakers that will apparently last me forever? Talking to my assistant manager Mark at the theatre later that day, he agreed, that Asics is a wonderful brand, that he bought a shirt in grade 8 that he still has, that is still in mint condition (he's 25 now btw). And I've gone to the gym with them twice and I absolutely love them. I feel as though I could run forever!

Work, Kids, Movies and CD's.

I realize it's been some time since I've last updated, and I have not been neglecting this by any purpose.
I've been really busy, what with the usual 2 jobs, babysitting and trying to maintain my social life. Saturday I went to the movies with my friend Dan and a couple of his friends. We saw Fantastic 4 which I didn't mind as I didn't have any expectations for it. Then Saturday night was Nickie's, we played poker! yay! Sunday I worked all day, Monday I worked all day, and TODAY I worked all day. Tomorrow I have the daycare and the gym, then hanging out with Megs and then her and I are meeting a friend and going to Dan's soccer game. I don't know what after that! Thursday I have a hair appointment and then I'm not sure!

In other news...I bought another CD. The new Green Day one, and I must say I absolutely love it. It's wicked, really. And I also bought the Die Hard Trilogy, Special Edition.
That's really all I have to update...not too much, but enough to entertain I'm sure!

Summer time is the time I like...maybe

So although we've been having really great weather this summer (I know I complain about the heat, but I think secretly I love it), I'm not getting much of a chance to enjoy it, and that's not because of my working so much. I'm used to going to the beach or the lake quite a bit, and this year, although I've gone to the beach a bit, I've not been to the lake once. This is due largely in part to one of my very good friends working in Truro Mon-Fri, and a few other people I know work all day jobs Mon-Fri as well. As for Krystyna and Meghan, if I'm not working, usually they are. That aside, even if I did have some one to attend the beach with me, where Kat is in Truro, I'm the only one with access to a vehicle and sadly enough, it might not be wise to venture down to Queensland in it. It's really quite annoying that vehicle I drive. And frustrating. I'd love to make the most of my summer, but I'm restricted by the car. I'm not trying to come off as ungrateful or anything like that, as I know how lucky I am to have such access. However, it'd be nice to actually be able to do the things I want to do, gather some friends and go camping somewhere. I know that at my age and situation I really should adore the car that I drive, but when you have to put it in neutral to start it, and it takes like 5 tries to even turn the ignition, you start to get irritated. I just want to go to the beach! As much as possible!

Other than that nothing much has really been going on. I've been trying to work out a lot lately, and eat reasonably healthy. I don't know what I'm doing, but it must be working because I've managed to shed nearly (not quite) 10lbs in the 2 or 3 weeks I've been doing this for. So I'm pleased about that.

But as I just returned from the gym, I must be off to shower and eat a quick lunch before I head into work all day! I hope today goes as fast as yesterday did! Ciao!

Busy much? I think so!

I've been so busy lately, and so incredibly tired it's unreal. It's why I've been neglecting this thing for awhile, not intentional, I swear! Except that it doesn't really matter as I haven't really had much to post. Working a lot doesn't make for an exciting life!

The weekend was funfilled. Except Friday. Canada Day, rain. The theatre? So busy. I think we had 1,986 people in that day. I wanted to shoot myself. Saturday I worked at the daycare in the morning, which wasn't too bad. I relaxed in the afternoon, and then met up with the two K's for dinner at ESM, a little shopping at HSC, and then a movie back in Bayers Lake. After the movie Kat and I said goodbye to Krystyna, came back here to change, and then went into Halifax and went out for a bit. We got up Sunday and came back home, I got ready and went to work and sure enough, I was able to go back home! With the great weather, we knew it wasn't going to be busy, and no one else wanted to go home (I knew I'd get to go home). I didn't have to go back until 6 so I went to the beach with Kat and her sisters and her sister's friend. And I met up with a friend of mine, we hung out with him for a bit before returning back to Sackville. I showered at the gym and went to work.

Not anything that entertaining, but I have nothing else to post about really.
